O Captain, My Captain:

I cannot begin to describe the mental torture you must be going through at this time and I commend you for your bravery.  Think of the choices you have to make.  We may all have been degenerate failures who were drawn toward the army after failing high school, but which one of us will be the best? There’s Kane Gagen, who is an insecure, high-strung crack addict with no life outside of this Sub, so why save him? Then there’s Brandon Carson. He may seem all nice and respectful, but what about his constant drinking problem and his domestic violence? And what about Emile Fitzpatrick, a man who had recently stolen an extra day’s worth of food rations? I mean, what if he decides he’s a little extra hungry and eats one of us?! I saw him eyeing out Carter Elder as if he were a tasty appetizer.  I am not saying that there is anything special about me, but there is nothing wrong with me. If you do choose to sacrifice me, I will go willingly, but please do not let these men live.
